JPG Magazine is looking for a photo/post-production intern for its art department.
JPG, a photography/lifestyle magazine, is produced entirely with content (images and articles) submitted by the online community at www.jpgmag.com. Nearly 200,000 members submit photographs and articles to various themed challenges, and the community and editorial staff work together to select the best photographs for publication.
JPG magazine is published bimonthly by 8020 Media (www.8020media.com) and reaches a large national and international audience. It is on newsstands at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters, etc.
This internship position would involve photo editing and production duties for JPG Magazine, as well as for JPGmag.com.
The internship is 20-25 hrs/wk and is paid $10/hr.
The ideal candidate possesses the following:
• Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Basic knowledge of Flash a plus.
• Familiarity with nondestructive editing techniques for photos.
• Understanding of resolution guidelines for both web and print.
• Basic design experience.
• Ability to learn quickly, self-motivation, organization skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail.
• Accountability and responsibility in daily and long-term tasks. Takes pride in making complete and polished work.
• Passion for photography a must!
