Nancy Hirsch Group LLC is a boutique, entertainment and lifestyle public relations firm that is in need of a well-rounded, resourceful PR Intern. Our clients range from internationally-known performance groups, to high-profile musicians, to trendsetting fashion designers, to on-air personalities, to large and renowned film festivals.
This position requires one part administrative skill and one part media savvy. It is helpful if you are a student and seeking a career in public relations. It is imperative that you are intelligent, focused, ambitious, and adaptable.
WHO WE NEED
*Someone who is organized to able to juggle multiple tasks. This means compiling media lists, maintaining databases, and attending to general office administrative tasks in an orderly fashion. *An excellent, proven writer with the ability to work independently and on-task. Our company demands that every piece of writing that comes out of our office be polished, creative, enticing, and poignant. We work on deadlines, so your work must be efficient and completed in a timely fashion.
*Someone who enjoys a small, busy office. This is a place with few employees and a lot of responsibility. You will be working closely with 2-3 people who are experienced and will be able to shape your professional experience. We need someone with a gutsy, hands-on mindset, who isn’t afraid to role up his/her sleeves.
*Someone who actively engages the media and reads newspapers daily. This means having an up-to-date knowledge of all things political, local, entertainment-related, and business-related. You should come here with a savvy attitude - be willing to learn about new, emerging media outlets, be comfortable discussing trends and news stories, and be ready to contact editors and producers.
*Someone who has a sense of humor and a thick skin. Remember that the media world is a busy, frustrating place - this requires patience and wit, along with an aggressive, hungry approach to your work.
