Anthropologie seeks bright, motivated individuals for Fall and Holiday internship positions with its visual teams. Interns will be encouraged to participate in all aspects of display program and be given substantive roles in activities that may include: creating and maintaining display, assisting in completion of visual objectives and upholding the overall aesthetic of the store. Knowledge of various textiles and materials as well as familiarity with power tools, basic construction techniques, and installation is preferred.
Job Description:
To achieve the Anthropologie mission – to create an unimagined experience. The successful Visual Intern will support the Display Coordinator and Visual team within each individual store. They are responsible for interpreting home office visual department communication to create an innovative, compelling and well executed visual environment. Ensure quality and craft of all displays are well executed using the appropriate level of construction and material choices. Maintain all display: windows, platforms, home/apparel display, signage and all large scale installations throughout the store. Create displays from materials that are resourceful, aesthetically appropriate and cost effective within the parameters of the display budget. Effectively manage time to meet all due dates and company timelines.
Qualifications/Skills:
The successful Visual Intern will have a fine arts, applied arts, or design and architectural background. Installation experience is preferred. Interns are responsible for supporting the visual team with the successful implementation of all display elements within a store--windows, signage, platforms, shelf uppers and jewelry cases. This person must be highly creative, with a through understanding of the Anthropologie point of view, and a constant awareness of trends in fashion and home furnishings. Knowledge of various textiles and materials as well as familiarity with power tools, basic construction techniques, and installation is preferred. A fine arts, applied arts, design or architectural background is beneficial.
Requirements:
- Must receive college credit - Must be able to work between 10 to 30 hours a week (2-5 days/week) - Must be able to work mornings - Ideal candidates should be in a visual program i.e. art, graphic design, interior design, illustration, etc.
