CONVERSE SPRING 2012 PR INTERNSHIP
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Converse Inc. seeks bright, motivated individuals with strong multi-tasking abilities for Spring 12 internship opportunities within its PR/Communications department. Interns will be encouraged to participate in all aspects of our PR programming and be given substantive roles in activities that may include: media monitoring, sample trafficking, media relations and press events surrounding Converse footwear, apparel, accessories and corporate activities. Internship is located in New York City.

We are looking for individuals that can intern at minimum 3 days a week (9AM – 6PM) during the Spring semester. Only candidates with appropriate experience will be called in for interviews.

COMPENSATION:
Credit Only
**Interns must be able to receive school credit to participate in the Converse internship program.**

DURATION:
Spring internships begin in the end of December or beginning of January and end mid-late May.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Assist in trafficking footwear and apparel samples for all editorial, broadcast and celebrity requests - creating sample loan out sheets, bagging up samples, bringing shopping and garment bags to mailroom, checking in and restocking returned samples, etc.
o Help maintain and organize PR closet: organize footwear and apparel samples on racks and shelves, archive old samples, etc.
o Review magazines for editorial coverage. Including scanning and creating clips for all ran press credits and assist in archiving press clips.
o Help with footwear and apparel editor/influencer product orders, seedings and mailings, including seasonal lookbook distribution, editor gifting, influencer product giveaways, processing orders, etc.
o Update and maintain media database and influencer database with current editorial and influencer contacts for both footwear and apparel collections.
o Assist at special events and press previews.
o General administrative duties including photo copying, department organization, press kit production, mailings, distribute magazines, expenses and mail distribution, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o You must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
o Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Condé Nast Publications is offering an exciting internship opportunity in our fine jewelry department at W. We are seeking responsible, proactive, motivated and detail-oriented students who have an interest in fine jewelry and are eager to learn about the magazine industry. Interns will participate in a variety of projects, which may include:

• Viewing the newest jewelry collections
• Transcribing interviews with various jewelry designers
• Organizing photographs and look books

Looking for candidates who can receive school credit, who are available Monday and Tuesday and who are able to start around January 9th. This is an unpaid internship which includes a 2 payment stipend.

Duties will include:

Gathering and creating press clip packets to keep team updated on industry events

Updating department media lists to become familiar with press contacts, major markets and outlets

Track and compile press for various events, issues, and news

Learn to calculate media impressions for print, broadcast, and online press hits reflected in these recaps

Broaden knowledge of the function and growing role that online news sites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc. play in public relations.

Assist in writing and editing press releases and segment scripts
