Part-Time Graphic Design Intern (SF/Financial District)

We are looking for a talented, independent and part-time graphic designer for about 10-20 hours/week with the flexibility to work more or less hours as necessary. The ideal candidate must be able to create detailed mock-ups of product and develop sales presentation materials in a deadline driven atmosphere (other projects as assigned). The candidate should be creative, a quick learner, and have an inherent understanding of how shoppers use ecommerce sites. The candidate will also have the flexibility to work remotely but should be willing to come into our office when needed. This position is a contract position paid at an hourly rate. Qualifications:
A guru with Photoshop (CS3+) and master of PowerPoint (2007/8)
Proficiency with pixel- and vector-based graphics, layers and adjustment layers, layer masks, layer effects, smart objects, groups, actions, color profiles and management, keyboard shortcuts!
Familiarity with slide masters, document themes, custom animations, transitions, grouping objects and replacing images
Background in graphic design: at least 2 years of professional marketing design or print design/production experience (web design background a big plus!)

High-Fashion Clothing Business Internships (Bayview)

"Apocalypse Vintage is a high-fashion vintage clothing resale company. We are committed to selling high-quality unique vintage clothes with a style that questions the status quo. Our office is currently in Portland and will moving to a warehouse in Bayview 10/25. This move is also coinciding with an overhaul of the company’s image presentation, as we create a more chic and presentable look. We are subleasing a large portion of our warehouse out to other fashion/art folks who will also be working on collaborative projects with us, and will also be hosting occasional small events there. We are a small business, queer-owned and work with mostly queer people. You don’t have to be queer but it would definitely help if you can meet us on that plain.

We’re seeking volunteer interns to fill two separate positions. You must be able to commit 15-25 hrs/week for at least 3 months. Both positions have the potential to become paid positions in 6-9 months.
We are seeking individuals with either lots of industry experience or some industry experience and a full fashion education. Either way, you MUST be able to demonstrate some knowledge of vintage fashion and clothing construction.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The goal of the marketing intern is to contact and establish relationships with various environmentally friendly organizations and encourage them to promote online campaigns to their members. 


RELAX. THIS IS NOT A SALES POSITION! 


This position will work closely with external partners to drive results measured by impact, not sales. 


Responsibilities: 

Utilize email and social networking correspondence as a vehicle to engage new partners. 

Work closely with key staff members to develop and deploy brand aligned promotions. 

Utilize various reporting tools to track online marketing campaigns (emails, search, affiliates). 

Produce and publish appropriate Web site performance analysis for Sr. Management review. 

Perform external analysis of industry trends and competitor initiatives through primary and secondary research methods. 


Date: ASAP 

Location: Santa Cruz, CA (partial telecommuting is OK too, but our office overlooks the beach) 

Internship Duration: 2 to 6 months 

Hours/Days: Part time basis (20 hours per week) 

Compensation: $10/hr and/or Class Credit Sponsorship 

Experience: Properly executed this position will give experience dealing with some of the hottest marketing companies in the business, and a robust resume bullet. You will also have a rare chance to be a part of something really cool. Seriously.

Business, Marketing or other analytically-focused majors preferred

Established junior’s clothing company is seeking a dependable, positive, fashionable design intern that is serious about learning the business. The ideal candidate for this position must be a quick learner, and extremely detailed oriented. This position will work with the VP of Design and Merchandising to insure proper flow of development. This candidate must be able to communicate with production team on all details of design and development. Responsibilities range from organizing to creating. Assisting with design in all designs aspects, tech packs development, researching trends, creating color boards, and following up with overseas sample development. Our interns gain a broad perspective on the industry through hands on experience. For the right person, there is endless potential to grow. 



Requirements: 


* Excellent design/color/fabric/trims sense. 

*Must be able to oversee all phases of line development. 

*Create original sketches of style groups based on concept/direction from VP of Design and Merchandising as well as owner. 

*Creates technical flat sketching and tech packs. 

*Photographs design reference samples for tech packs. 

*Create, set up, and update line-sheets per category. 

* Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction 

* Microsoft Office proficient, preferred knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop a must 

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy 

*Ability to analyze work load and plan accordingly 

*Exceptional organizational and follow up skills 


*5 days a week is preferred but we are flexible if the candidate is driven 




*This is a non-paid internship; however, college credit is available
