About the internship:
MashON is looking for a stellar design intern to work on-site in our Culver City office. As a design intern you will assist in creating, editing and producing designs with the in house creative team. We work on numerous projects simultaneously across several design disciplines. Depending on skill set you may be able to help and learn with the team in multiple areas. This position is perfect for any designer with a passion of interactive, web, products and apparel. At the conclusion of the internship you may be able to stay on as a freelancer while you continue your education. 
Responsibilities:
  • Brainstorm, research and mock up design ideas
  • Edit and update web pages internally and for existing clients
  • Help design landing pages and eCommerce store designs
  • Create new product designs for a wide variety of clients, which may include t-shirts, mugs, blankets, pillows, canvas prints, etc
  • Design updates to our product designer application and admin dashboard
  • Create documentation for production and development
  • Prepare design assets and style guides for development
  • Produce digital assets from established art direction
  • Assist production team with daily tasks
  • Create and update banner ads
  • Update and send out promotional newsletters
  • Use social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to update posts
Position Requirements:
  • College degree (in progress) with major in Web Design, Graphic Design or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, basic to intermediate knowledge of Illustrator and InDesign
  • Attention to detail (pixel precision)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
  • Be able to follow direction and adhere to brand and style guides
  • Be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to take initiative, and take ownership of assigned work projects
  • Be able to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions when obstacles occur
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in designing apparel is a plus
  • Knowledge of CSS is another plus
  • Understanding of the current trends in social media, web, and development
  • Comfortable in a PC environment, or bring your own laptop
  • A strong online portfolio is a must!

HGTV Art/Photo Internship

HGTV Magazine, a new Hearst publication that launched in October 2011, is looking for an art/photo intern for the Spring 2013 semester. 
Responsibilities include:
  • photo research 
  • invoicing 
  • printing/calling in photographer and stylist portfolios
  •  requesting high-res images 
  • shopping for props & other administrative duties.
The intern will need to have experience working in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop & Bridge. Should be completely fluent in both Microsoft Office and Mac platform. Must be extremely organized, detail oriented, & great at multi-tasking. The ideal candidate will be available 5 days a week starting in February but less will be considered if you’re the right fit. Prior internship at a national consumer magazine preferred & a love of all things home/lifestyle-related. MUST receive college credit for this internship. No phone calls, please.

GOOD Editorial Internship (LA)

Intern at GOOD in Los Angeles!
Requirements: Each applicant must be a current student enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited university. Internships are unpaid; school credit is available. Interns should be able to commit 12 to 20 hours per week, on average. The exact dates of the internship will depend on each student’s availability. Internships are broken up into Fall, Spring and Summer, as you can see below.
