On-Site Interpreter (Sacramento Area)

Language World Services, Inc. is Northern California’s largest foreign language service agency offering professional interpreting and translation services in over 65 languages. Our talented team of professionally trained interpreters provides the vital linguistic and cultural link that business, public agencies, and non-profit organizations need to communicate with their limited English proficient consumers.

We are currently seeking individuals with fluency in many languages including:
• Arabic
• Cambodian
• Hmong
• Lao
• Mien
• Punjabi
• Spanish
• Tagalog
• Thai

Our Professional Interpreters are responsible to:
• Provide accurate, clear, and speedy in-person interpreting services with complete fidelity to the spirit of the original communication.
• Assist clients in competing necessary forms, histories, and other documents.
• Provide sight translation of complex documentation into the target language if required by our clients.
• Arrive punctually to all interpreting assignments and provide a professional interpreting experience for those we serve.
• Maintain required confidentiality regarding personal issues or any other information learned during an assignment as required by HIPAA.

Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and their targeted language(s).
• Minimum availability of at least 20 hours during regular business hours (M – F, 8:00am – 5:00pm)
• Reliable personal transportation and valid CA driver’s license, along with proof of vehicle liability insurance.
• Computer with Internet access and an email address, along with a cell phone.
• Current tuberculosis exam clearance.
• Knowledge of anatomy, major body systems, and medical terminology in at least two languages preferred.
