The Visual Merchandising intern gains hands-on experience by executing visual presentations at our San Francisco Centre store. You'll learn from the passionate, dedicated people who bring the Nordstrom experience to life, as you view the store through the eyes of our customers and uphold the Nordstrom Brand.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to visualize and execute with excellent attention to detail
- Supports, educates, and demonstrates a passion for specific lifestyle styling and knowledge of current trends
- Implements current presentation guidelines and helps ensure training of department staff and Regional Merchandisers with regard to Presentation standards and guidelines
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency/understands and meets deadlines
- Ensures high quality of all visual aspects of the store
- Ensures high quality with regard to window and event execution
- Understands and supports the Nordstrom Brand
- Prepares, organizes and executes merchandising strategies, large scale events and initiatives based on presentation standards and corporate initiatives
- Partners with store and Visual Merchandising Manager regarding the importance of V Award initiatives and implementation of short and long term plan for the overall look of their store
- Maintains accurate information and implementation of corporate sign program
Qualifications:
- Experience/education in retail visual merchandising
- Exudes a passion for fashion and knowledge of current trends
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent people skills
- Use good judgment in all situations
- Basic computer skills
The Nordstrom Internship program is open to college students currently in their junior and senior years who are enrolled in accredited institutions and applicable degree programs. For example, retail management and fashion merchandising.
The Internship program at this store starts June 15, 2009 and ends August 14, 2009. The application deadline is February 28, 2009. Interviews are conducted in March and April, and the selection process is complete by April 15, 2009.
