NON-PROFIT SPECIAL EVENTS INTERNSHIP

The Nancy Davis Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis seeks a Special Events Intern to assist in producing the 16th Annual Race to Erase MS gala.

On May 8, 2009, over 1,300 celebrities, executives and affluent community members will unite for a star-studded spectacular at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza featuring live performances by popular musical artists and amazing surprise guests, a Tommy Hilfiger celebrity fashion show and our legendary live and silent auction. This extraordinary evening generates over $2.7 million to fund groundbreaking research for the treatment and ultimate cure of MS.

Interns will assist in producing the 2009 event, including event logistics, gift bags, sponsorship, auction, entertainment, fashion show, celebrity attendance and media coverage. Specific responsibilities will vary based on experience and interests.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Outgoing and friendly personality, creativity and enthusiasm.
• Superb organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, with discretion and confidentiality.
• Computer proficiency including Word and Excel.

The internship date is through May 31, 2009. The position is an unpaid, part-time position with extremely flexible hours and we are happy to offer school, internship or volunteer credit where applicable.
