Editorial Intern

Soft, LLC actively seeks an intern for its social media department. This is an unpaid internship. The intern/student may reside anywhere in the U.S., as this work is exclusively performed online.

Soft, LLC is a brooklyn based company run by a designer and educator that makes products for children with Autism and related disorders. We will be launching our first line, a line of adaptive children's clothing called "Soft Clothing for All Children" in 2009. We run a blog and social network geared mostly toward parents of children with special needs, and we need interns to provide regular content, and moderate/seed the social network to attract more members and activity.

If you are interested in any combination of the following areas, this would be a great learning experience for you, not to mention a wonderful addition to your resume for a variety of fields:
design (graphic and clothing)
marketing/pr
social enterprise/non-profit
social marketing
social justice/disability issues
writing/editorial/journalism
social media
web 2.0 marketing
Autism issues
Parenting/early childhood
style/fashion
product design
merchandising

Yes, it really does involve ALL of those things. We can not offer compensation at this time, but we offer a great, widely flexible job description that will suit your resume for a variety of future jobs. We will write you recommendations, give you byline credit for all articles submitted, and make you one of the "creators" of our social network. This will look good when future employers google you (which you know they do--I probably will!)

Please be able to commit to a minimum of the following before submitting your resume:
