Melissa is the original jelly shoe, available in the finest boutiques around the world; including Colette in Paris, Dover Street Market in London, 10 Corso Como in Milan and Opening Ceremony in New York.
Melissa is an affordable luxury accessory; a blend of art, fashion and innovative design in collaboration with important artists, fashion designers and architects. Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander Herchcovitch, Vivienne Westwood and, more recently, the Pritsker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid are notable names in a growing roster of exciting projects.
The shoes are made of a proprietary plastic blend of that has been gradually perfected over the last 30 years to deliver a soft and malleable material that molds to the user’s feet for ultimate comfort. Melissa’s are 100% recyclable.
Melissa is now focused on growing the US market and looking for interns to assist in this effort . We are a small team (5 people) led by 2 partners/entrepreneurs. We are looking for 2 energetic, enterprising, hard-working, creative and curious individuals:
1. Market Research Intern: will collect, compile, analyze and summarize information about target stores and markets. Assist with various administrative duties and other tasks, as required. Candidate should have a strong interest in marketing and market research and should be conversant with word, excel and other basic office programs
2. Showroom/set design: candidate should have a strong interest in window/set design. We are looking for a creative individual with a flair for conceiving compelling visual displays/sets and any other approaches to showcasing a product in a compelling and attractive way.
Our offices are located in a spacious and sunny loft on West 27th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. These positions are not remunerated but selected interns will be provided with a modest stipend to cover transportation and meals.
