The company specializes in packaging and publishing creative, popular non-fiction books, with an emphasis in pop culture. Ideally, intern candidates have a background in journalism study, marketing, and/or creative writing. Anyone with passionate interest in publishing/writing/editing is welcome to apply, however.
Job Description:
These are entry-level, part-time, unpaid positions with flexible scheduling. Tasks include transcription; organizing; filing; email and website maintenance; copying; writing and editing promotional and other copy; assembling packages; note-taking; fact checking; proofreading; errands; faxing; scheduling; and any other job necessary to support the running of a publishing entity and its authors.
Qualifications:
Skills desired include strong writing ability; interest/background in editing and copy editing/writing; impressive organizational talents; basic HTML (or more); knowledge of MySpace, Facebook and social networking sites; familiarity with both PC and Mac programs; and enthusiasm and knowledge of pop culture.
