Spring 2010 Apparel Design/Accessories Design (NYC)

Overview:
Gain exciting, valuable, and fashionable work experience with the Liz Claiborne Inc. Spring 2010 For-Credit Internship Program for Liz Claiborne New York, Claiborne by John Bartlett, DKNY Jeans, Monet, Mac & Jac, and Kensie!

Our Spring 2010 Internship Program begins on February 1, 2010 and ends on April 30, 2010. Opportunities are available in New York City as well as our headquarters in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Please review the qualifications listed below.

Responsibilities:
Apparel Design (includes but not limited to):

* Work with the Woven and Knits team on a daily basis to execute product development
* Assist in putting together design packages and layouts
* Research new trends
* Organization of the presentation boards for current season with fabric swatches, designs, and cads
* Working with designers on trims and learning about the color approval process

Jewelry Design (includes but not limited to):

* Assist Jewelry team in design research – source trends from internet, magazines, and the library
* Make presentation boards/ coloring for Market presentation

Qualifications:
* Must have a focus on Fashion Design or Jewelry Design
* Basic experience with Microsoft applications, Mac familiarity, and Photoshop/Illustrator experience is a must
* Can do team player attitude
* Ability to prioritize duties and be proactive
* Organization and keen eye to detail
* Willingness to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment

Required Skills:
* Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
* Must be eligible to receive credit for this internship from your college/university
* Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior level student
* Past retail or fashion industry experience is preferred but not required
