Reply to: job-rn4mu-1475359315@craigslist.org San Francisco’s premier and long established (over 24 years) bridal fashion boutique in the Union Square shopping district is looking to add a qualified seamstress to our alterations department. The boutique represents 18 of the premier bridal fashion designers inclusive of Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Badgley Mischka, Anna Maier Ulla-Maija and many more.
Candidates will be responsible for tailoring/altering wedding gowns and accessories for our customers, meeting and conducting fittings with customers in an unsupervised manner, and delegating and explaining the work required to the rest of the alterations staff.
Ideal Qualifications:
• At least 3 years sewing experience, preferably in tailoring women’s fine clothing such as evening gowns and fine fabrics
• Must be able to sew on industrial single needle machine
• Experience in conducting fittings with customers (inclusive of pinning)
• Self motivated individual with a keen eye for fit
• Ability to start and finish projects independently or with minimum supervision
• Professional attitude and well-groomed appearance
• Good work ethic – team player, punctual, self-motivated, dependable, detail oriented
• Friendly, polite and positive attitude is essential
• Good communication skills
Current Store Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 10am to 6pm.
Part Time, Full Time and Seasonal opportunities may be discussed.
We are open to training in the event not all qualifications above are met. Interns are also welcome to apply.
Compensation is based on experience.
