Job Description
Three Marketing Interns will be selected to work with the Marketing Department in IES Abroad Chicago to assist with new initiatives, review and update on-going analysis, develop processes, and provide key recommendations. Interns are individually responsible for completing a project on an assigned topic and may also collaborate on a research project. At the end of their internship, participants provide a presentation on initiatives and findings to office-wide staff.
Examples of previous intern projects:
- Communications/Media: interviewed students and wrote feature articles, assisted with IES Abroad publications, updated content on the website.
- Website Analysis: researched and evaluated websites, provided key recommendations.
- Website Design & Content Management: assisted with the implementation of website initiatives.
- Publications Design: developed creative concepts and implemented designs for a variety of print projects.
- Film: Edited student interviews and Center video for website use.
Skills Needed
- Vested interest in study abroad.
- Previous marketing or marketing-related experience.
- Willingness to learn and patience for mastering new skills.
- Desire and dedication to be a key contributing member to a hardworking team.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Initiative, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
- Professional demeanor.
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Design interns: experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Website interns: experience with DreamWeaver and basic Html. Film interns: experience with Final Cut Express or similar program)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, youth-oriented atmosphere.
- Undergraduate student status or a student who has just graduated with an undergraduate degree.
Interns will need to be able to locate a place of residence in Chicago. IES Abroad can provide a list of possible subletting agencies, if needed. No additional monetary assistance is given to those who need to find a sublet/temporary housing.
Stipend
A stipend, generally $2,500, will be provided to each full-time marketing intern.
