Situated in a campus of artist-renovated military buildings in the Marin Headlands, just minutes north of San Francisco, Headlands Center for the Arts hosts an internationally recognized Artist in Residence Program, interdisciplinary public programs, and subsidized studio rentals for Bay Area artists of all disciplines. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The auction intern will work closely with Headlands staff on all aspects of the 2009 Annual Benefit Auction. The internship will provide hands on experience learning how to organize a major event from beginning to end. Responsibilities will include seeking business donations/sponsorship, coordinating auction artists, creating and maintaining excel spreadsheets to track donations and communications, catalog production, installation, coordinating volunteers, publicity, marketing, and membership tracking.

Headlands seeks a candidate who can commit one day a week for at least a four-month period. Skills needed for this position are an outgoing personality, strong attention to detail, eagerness in making connections within the art community, good problem solving and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Filemaker Pro. Some evening hours will be required with additional hours during the week of the event.
