Successful Bay Area rep group based in Palo Alto is seeking an intern for a period of six months or more.
The high-end lines we represent are Andreu World, Davis, Martin Brattrud, Nucraft, Sandler Seating, Source International and Anzea Fabrics.
This is the perfect internship opportunity for all who would like get to know the design industry from the perspective of a very successful contract furniture sales representative.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule vendor visits & client appointments
- Visit clients & deliver demo chairs, samples, etc.
- Update clients’ libraries
- Create schedules for exhibitions like HD Show in Las Vegas or Neocon in Chicago
- Assist clients w/ product questions
- Create price quotes
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
- Product-knowledge of furniture lines we represent
- Practical usage of design terminology
- Learn how to correctly specify furniture + fabrics because you will see how designers do it
- Code requirements for fabrics, etc. for commercial use
- Process of competitive bidding / who are the players
- Business communication skills
- Presentation + sales skills
- Customer service skills
- Networking skills

Besides learning being in a rep group, our intent is to assist you with your career. You will learn first-hand about the options for interior designers (e.g. healthcare, hospitality, office design…) to help you find the right career path and the perfect company. We will do this by bringing you in touch with the right people and companies to network with and ultimately help you find the next internship or design position.
