Fast-paced, internationally represented, women’s contemporary fashion line seeks Spring/Summer 2010 and immediately available Interns for Production, Design / Development, Operations and Sales / Marketing departments.

This is a non-paid internship. We do offer school credit, mileage re-imbursement and free parking. Open to all majors but interest in fashion and dedication is key. We are a MAC based company, those with MAC experience are encouraged to apply. Learn what it takes to succeed in the fashion industry!

Candidates must be available to interview within the next 2 weeks.

Start date: Spring February 2010
Immediate ASAP
Minimum Commitment: 3 months
Required: Valid driver’s license and own transportation necessary.

PRODUCTION / DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT INTERN: This person will work within the production department. Must be a highly motivated team player that follows directions, communicates effectively and works well under pressure. Understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, fabrics, findings, sampling and sourcing helpful. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Adobe Illustrator is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Detailed Tasks:
Effectively communicate internally and with vendors to coordinate and assist in daily runs
Assist in preparation of all production packet documentation integral to efficiently handing styles off to vendors and assist in obtaining credit/term paperwork to be filed for new vendor
Assist in inventorying and distribution of interior and exterior marketing including hangtags, brand, size and care labels as well as shipping supplies to be passed off to vendors
Assist in aspects of research and development including updating trim, fabric and sourcing library as well coordinating execution of Look Book, line sheets, and sample distribution.
Assist in flat (technical drawing) for design seasons. Knowledge of spec measurements a plus.

OPERATIONS/CUSTOMER RELATIONS INTERN: This person will work within the operations department and must be comfortable communicating with all departments and strategic partners. Ability to multi-task is essential. This individual must be organized and detail oriented to assist with all operational aspects, including, sales, factor, shipping, and accounting processes. Computer savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Mac, Photoshop, Apparel Magic 10 experience helpful. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Detailed Tasks:
Assist in the development of client and vendor relations by contacting customer and confirming all orders via email, fax and/or phone
Assist in communication with logistics company in shipping store orders
Assist in management of office supplies and distribution to all departments
Assist in the RA approval process by communicating with showroom and clients
Assist in coordination of sample sales, special events and projects
Creating and maintaining customer / vendor files for office
Organize/file vendor and client information as needed for the department and office
SALES / MARKETING: This person will work within the sales and marketing department, must be comfortable communicating with all departments and strategic partners. Including showroom, PR firm and stylists and editors in a professional manner. This individual must be organized and detailed oriented. Computer savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel experience necessary, Photoshop and/or Illustrator experience helpful.
Detailed Tasks:
Assist in the sales with the showroom via email, fax and / or phone
Assist in logging orders using our internal system
Assist in order follow up and finding new distribution opportunities
Assist in the Return Authorization process by communicating with showroom and clients
Assist in coordination of sample sales, special events, tradeshows and projects
Assist in maintaining sample racks and tracker as well as facilitating inbound and outbound sample pulls and returns
Maintaining press kit and image database
Organize/file vendor and client information as needed for the department and office
