FASHION DESIGN PRODUCTION
Design - Production Internship::
You will be assisting the production coordinator in the design, manufacturing, sourcing and shipping of high end handbags, jewelry and accessories. Opportunities to help with sampling new designs, participate in design meetings, attend manufacturing sessions, learn to source new materials, learn to work with high end buyers, invites to fashion functions. Day to day activities include filing orders, contacting buyers, helping with shipping, sourcing materials, watching the market for trends and brand expansion, office upkeep and errands. Opportunity for growth.
I. Product Development
i. Sourcing help- Materials include leathers, zippers, fabric, trims
- Online research
- Calling vendors
- Picking up materials or samples
ii. Dropping off materials to patternmakers or contractors as necessary


II. Production
i. Spec Packets & Bill of Materials- helping flat sketching, taking measurement specs, & building spec packs/ BOM’s using MS Excel
ii. Trim boxes- helping count & prepare trim boxes for contractors
iii. Picking up/ dropping off materials to contractors as necessary
iv. Assisting in Quality Control – Inspecting raw materials, i.e. Leather skins or hardware, as well as finished goods
v. Assisting in packing & shipping- help pack & ship finished goods
vi. Aiding in managing finish goods and raw materials inventory stocklist
vii. Duties also include data entry, filing, phone calls, faxing, scanning
Looking for::
A spirited, organized, creative individual who works well with others, wants a 4-6 month internship, 10 – 15 hours a week. Understanding of design, patterns, wholesale markets, quickbooks, photoshop, illustrator, shipping, excel, foreign languages all a plus.

You will be assisting the owner and the production manager for a high-end accessory fashion collection.
