Marketing Events Coordinator Intern

Education/Experience: Current participation in Marketing or related program
Location: San Francisco
Start Date: Summer 2008, ASAP
Salary Range: Unpaid, Commuter Tickets (BART/MUNI/CalTrain)

Granicus is a private organization that is at the cutting edge of using technology to bring local government meetings to the public. With over 400 clients made up of cities, counties and towns all over the country, Granicus is the leading provider of government streaming media solutions. Our service allows these jurisdictions to post video recordings of their meetings online. These recordings are then keyword searchable by agenda topic, so the public has an immense amount of information at its fingertips.

The Marketing Department is seeking a motivated student to come join us for the summer. We offer our interns on-the-job training, participation in our new hire orientation program, lunch with the CEO, a resume-building workshop, and the chance to shadow someone from another department to gain exposure to different career fields.

Duties:
• Assist in the planning of trade shows and conferences
• Prepare packages and advertisement materials for trade shows to send out to the clients
• Assist in the putting together the logistics of training sessions for the trade shows
• Assist the Events manager and the Events Planner in the coordination of Integrated Events
• Assist in Pre and Post-Event Promotion
• Assist in the Communication process with Sales Organization and Industries Professional Association and Clients.

Skills Required:

• Strong writing, communication and research skills
• Ability to prioritize and finish given projects in a timely manner
• Must be able to take direction and be eager about initiating and taking on various projects
• Ability to follow a pre-defined process
• Must be friendly, reliable, energetic, and have a positive attitude
