Visual Arts Coordinator for Art Gallery (Castro/Upper Market)

Femina Potens, non profit community art gallery, is currently looking for a new visual art coordinator. Femina Potens is dedicated to the advancement of women and transgendered artists . Located at the corner of Sanchez and Market, in the hear of the Castro, Femina Potens has become a hub for artistic dialogue around around the deconstruction and the exploration of art, sex and gender. This internship requires 15 hours a week and pays a stipend of $250 a month. This is a 6 month long internship with an option to reapply. Commissions of art sales are also made available for this position.

Skills that are needed:
Events Management experience, event coordination experience, multi tasking, passion for art, organizational skills, sales experience, stability and dependability.


As visual arts coordinator you can expect:
- Coordinating with artists for exhibits
- Sending out artists contracts
- working with Executive Director to curate art work on a continual basis
- recruiting new venues for curation
- overseeing art sales
- working on visual arts budget with the ED
- creating a data base for artist patrons
- cultivating on going relationships with artist patrons
- overseeing sales of artist services
- scouting new artists for our FP Edge programming
- attending visual art events when possible
- overseeing the installation of new work

  • Compensation: $250 stipend per month
