We are seeking a creatively-minded intern who will take any project handed to them and run with it. This position is meant for a self-starter who likes challenges and thrives when given great responsibility. This 20 hr/wk internship is unpaid, but promises to be an incredible resume building opportunity.
Although the exact marketing projects you work on will be greatly influenced by your strengths and areas of interest, you can expect the internship will include many of the following types of projects:
- Writing/coordinating blog posts, ensuring engaging/relevant content
- Creating various SEO optimized content for website (no prior knowledge of SEO optimization necessary; we will teach you)
- Reaching out to bloggers whose readers would be interested in our products and convincing them to post about us
- Updating Facebook Fan Page, and creating Twitter, and YouTube accounts with content that is interesting to and engages the consumer
- Following the social media efforts of other brands to get ideas for our campaign and monitor our competition
- Using social media to conduct market research (which entails following the social media behavior of our core consumers to better understand how to position our social media campaign)
- Thinking of other marketing ideas, including viral marketing to help spread the word about our brands
Naturally, fluency with and passion for social media sites is a must. You should know the ins-and-outs of Facebook (including Facebook Fan Pages), Twitter, YouTube, and be familiar with the blogosphere. The ideal candidate will not necessarily be the one with the most relevant experience, but the one who thinks outside-of the-box and has a can-do attitude (this means taking the position to the next level and coming up with your own ideas for marketing and social media is strongly encouraged)!
