Job Description - amoosi Internship

Do you have a passion for fashion and want to gain experience in running an ethical fashion company? Amoosi is looking for an intern to support all aspects of the company, from production to marketing and business development.

Amoosi, a social enterprise company, was established in 2007 founded by Nina Flowers and Jessica Sherlock with funding from the Millennium awards. Since launching we have worked with Oxfam and other partners to increase textile re-use for fashion. The company was an innovation award winner and selected by the Ethical Fashion Forum to exhibit at London Fashion Week in 2008. We have developed several high profile central London stockists and are looking for an intern to support us with developing the company.

Job Information
Location:Central London

Duration: Minimum 3-6 months (3 months minimum)
Working Hours: Monday – Fri 9-5pm (flexible, to be agreed) Some evening and weekend work required.

Overall Purpose of Job
To provide support with amoosi’s marketing activities, business development and expanding our textile sourcing operations.

Summary of main responsibilities

• Plan and develop key marketing initiatives.
• Organise events to promote our work.
• Shadow and support operations management
• Research new channels for local textile sourcing.
• Develop partnerships with other organisations

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Fashion Marketing

•Plan, market and execute key marketing activities to raise awareness of amoosi’s collection.
•Work in collaboration with marketing team to develop marketing collateral for potential stockists including a look book and swatch pads.
•Raise the profile of amoosi in relevant media, making contacts with key fashion magazines and sending them samples and info about amoosi.
•Investigate potential celebrity endorsers for amoosi.
•Provide support with the private views and sample sale.
•Research events and partnerships amoosi could benefit from being involved with.
•Update the amoosi website with new text and content.
•General administration duties.

2.Wholesale

- Implement a plan to develop new client relationships with buyers using new marketing collateral. Set up meetings with potential stockists.
•Develop relevant communications plans in partnership with marketing manager.
•Ensure POS material is mainained in all local stockists.

3.Design

•Provide support sourcing fabrics
•Provide support with developing new colour charts and mood boards for ss/AW2010 collections.

4.Textile Sourcing and operations

•Help to expand our collection of waste textiles locally
•Support implementation of monitoring and stock taking for our waste textiles.

5.Events Management

•Assisting planning and executing a wide range of exhibitions.
