Kara Kurcz handbag and fashion company is seeking an industrious and reliable intern in our downtown office. Must be passionate about the web and its possibilities. The unpaid internship is designed to show the ins and outs of web based branding, production and design in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
Our goal is to give you direct experience editing and maintaining a high profile fashion website. Work for school credit or experience ONLY. Must work at least one day/week in office for design meetings and can code from office or home to finish projects.
Please email your resume as an attachment, a link to your portfolio and/or samples of your work, and tell us a little bit about yourself! Knowledge of e-commerce using Volusion preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities include: • Collaborate with the designers in the development of the seasonal look and product highlights.
• Taking product photo's of items in our office and applying to designs.
• Creating Ads for internet and print.
• Create designs to support webstore functionality.
Required qualifications: Preferably at least Junior or Senior college level to have applied or prior intern experience as below. • 2+ years demonstrated development experience with HTML, CSS (table-less design), JavaScript and SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
• 1-2 years experience with XML
• Fluent in a code-based code editor (such as Macromedia)
• Solid experience in Adobe Photoshop.
• Understanding of browser capabilities, SEO and design constraints on the web
