Quiksilver is looking for interns!

If you are a Junior or Senior in college and are looking for some real world experience, Quiksilver offers internships in various departments throughout the year. If you're interested in learning more about the action sports apparel business then Quiksilver is the best place to do your internship.

Quiksilver has an unpaid-college-credit-based internship program. You must be able to show that you are receiving school credit for your work in order to qualify. To be considered please submit your cover letter and resume. Please specify which department(s) you are interested in and what dates you’d be available to intern. Here’s just a brief description of what we’re looking for:

Apparel Design- Intern candidates will learn how we choose styles and colors for each season and how we research trends. They will learn about creating reports and designing. Design major preferred. Knowledge of programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop a must.

Web Design- interns will be exposed to resizing images, basic HTML and CSS coding, assisting in graphic design, creating static online banners, help brainstorm creative ideas, etc. Understanding of HTML and CSS, Graphic design skills and familiar with design programs such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design

Graphic Design- Interns will be shown the action sports world from the graphic perspective. They will learn about color & sizing, linebooks, and creating layouts for books. Graphic Design majors preferred. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Merchandising- Interns will learn the process of merchandising step-by-step from initial sku plan and design to completion of samples. They will work closely with all levels of staff in multiple departments. They will assist merchants with filing, sample wrangling, line guides and department organization. Merchandising majors preferred. Must have strong computer skills, especially Excel.

Marketing- Interns will gain knowledge of the different ways of marketing. They will learn about marketing photos, layouts, and other media. They will help with market research, logging and tracking inventory, and scanning and sizing photos. Marketing majors preferred.

Retail Buying- Interns will be shown the different sides of the Retail Buying world. They will be exposed to best seller, line review, and sales meetings. They will learn about the financial side with an overview of open to buy, pricing, promotions, markdowns, mark ups, and gross margin management. They will also learn about purchase order management. Buying or Merchandising majors preferred. Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Latin Americas- Interns will learn about international business through our Latin Americas division. They will be exposed to international communication, international marketing strategies, and international sales support. Must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish. International Relations or Spanish majors preferred. Must have

Production/Sourcing- Interns will study how to organize and coordinate development packages for overseas vendors, how to track all components of development of fashion product. They will also learn about acceptable fabric and trim submittals, the process of approving raw components, data entry for PO entry/maintenance and tracking of purchase orders through the system. Open to all majors. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
