Budget Babe Fashion Writing Internship (NY)


Are you a college student obsessed with the latest fashion trends? Are you a self-described beauty addict or nail art expert? Do you love decorating on the cheap and creating stylish DIY projects? Most of all, do you love writing, being savvy and sharing your passion with others?
If so, The Budget Babe is currently looking for writers for the Summer/Fall 2013 semester. Responsibilities include writing, researching, taking and editing photos, creating Pinterest-worthy graphics and images, and engaging readers via social media platforms.
Writers will be expected to craft their own topics and deliver 1-3 blog posts per week. Writers should be able to start work immediately and continue through December (dates can be flexible).
The ideal candidate would be enrolled in college as of Fall 2013 (recent grads will also be considered).
Applicants should have a strong command of the English language, the ability to set their own work hours and meet strict deadlines. Applicants must be self-motivated, highly-organized, responsible and creative.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, video editing for YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter is a huge plus.
Interning for The Budget Babe is an excellent way to expand your writing portfolio and get your name out there. Your work will be read by tens of thousands of readers each week. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about PR, building a brand, pro-blogging and of course, fashion!

This is a full-time position. Schedule from 10 AM to 630PM Monday to Friday.

Ideal candidate must have the following:

Fashion Writing part of the job:
• strong knowledge of fashion jargon - duties include labeling/titling the items, providing a description, and coming up with the best keywords to get hits on Ebay
• excellent skills in creative writing, grammar, and spelling - duties include providing a description of the item and its details
• attention to detail - this position will take measurements of each of the items
• accuracy - there are many points to check as you create each listing; there's a maximum amount of mistakes that this position can make
• ability to work in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment - there's a minimum number of items expected to be listed per day

Creative Department Internships at VIZ Media (North Beach / Telegraph hill)

VIZ Media is now accepting applications for internships in our Creative department for the Spring 2010 Semester

Creative department interns will assist all facets of our Creative department, including our Design and Brand Liaison teams. These groups are responsible for artwork for VIZ Media graphic novels, consumer magazines, DVDs packaging, product development, licensing, and marketing collateral.

ALL INTERNS MUST:
* be currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, or graduate school. Interns MUST be able to receive college credit, as our internships are unpaid.
* be able to provide proof of school credit on request.
* be able to commute to our San Francisco office.
* be legally available to work in the United States.
* be at least 18 years of age at the time of the start of the internship.
* be able to work at least 12-20 hours/workweek between the hours of 10-5 each weekday (schedule TBD).

PRIMARY DUTIES
* Organize and catalog artwork archive
* Proof tracking
* Scanning artwork
* Data copying
* General design support and assignments depending on skill level

MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
* Basic design skills, including use of scanner
* Computer literate with Mac systems. Must have basic computer office skills including spreadsheet, database, word processing, CD burning, web browsing, etc.
* Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus, but not required.
* Experience/Interest in graphic design, media publishing, comics industry and Japan pop culture
* Proficient command of English grammar and spelling (proofing/copy editing skills preferable)
* Ability to fluently read, write and speak professionally in both English and Japanese is a PLUS
* General knowledge of manga/anime helpful, but extensive knowledge is not needed
* Dependable, Organized, Responsible, Detail-oriented

Job Description:
Multidisciplinary Intern is a six month paid internship position to support innovation program at world-class new media research and development facility maintained by one of Europe's leading communications providers.

As part of the Knowledge Transfer team at Orange Labs San Francisco, you will be involved in a variety of innovation projects in different capacities, ranging from support roles to generating assets including video production, graphic design, writing/editing, to event production. Interest in technology is a must for this position. A keen graphic design sense is also essential. Digital graphics production experience is a plus. Task load includes finding stock illustrations, clearances, and layouts. The position entails capturing and editing video of internal and external events. Your writing skills and editorial eye will be utilized in the production of weekly publications.

You will help establish a culture of innovation within the lab by working with a multidisciplinary team responsible for conceptualization, execution, and administration of ideation initiatives, including evangelization of the initiative and community management. You will also be involved in event production.
