The Art Department of the SF Bay Guardian is looking for a motivated, self-starting intern. The position will offer the opportunity to learn about the visual and creative side of making a newspaper.
What we offer
The internship will offer the opportunity to learn about photography, web/multimedia design, and newspaper production. The intern will be trained in basic print design, shooting editorial photos, prepping images for the web, and creating multimedia content for the web.
What we expect

NEW MEDIA INTERN
Interns will gain practical experience in online promotion, website development and strategy, and the general workings of a small not-for-profit theater and film education program. Each intern is encouraged to read widely, generate ideas and approach problems creatively.
Daily tasks may include sourcing blogs relevant to screenings and series; editing video of previous cinema and education program related events and posting those to our site and youtube/vimeo/facebook accts; working on new pages and fixing the current site; using twitter and facebook to promote our events and finding interesting links related to our series to post to those social networking sites. An ideal New Media intern has experience with building websites, knows at basic html and editing web-ready video. Experience with the Adobe suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop) and Final Cut is a plus.
