    Design/Styling Internship
    Katharine Polk has established her own co. in ’09. She has had huge success as a stylist, fashion editor and creative director in her own right working with top photographers, models and magazines and leaving her stamp on everything she does. Katharine Polk is also passionate about her role as a spokesperson for Designers Against Aids, as well as contributing fashion editor for Fiasco magazine.

    Katharine Polk is looking for a few Design/Styling interns. The intern will start on December 12th for a week, and return on January 3. Tasks may vary from picking up samples, assisting on photo shoots, and prepare for an upcoming collection for Fashion Week during February. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested any field within the fashion industry.
    Academic Credit is offered but not necessary.

    Styling Intern (NY)


    Glamour Magazine is seeking an intern to assist on set during photo shoots. The intern will gain valuable experience in the daily tasks of styling with a publication.

    Responsibilities include:
    -understanding the dynamic of on set etiquette
    -assisting on photo shoots
    -unpacking/packing/ set up of apparel and accessories
    -checking in and out of apparel/accessories
    -various administrative tasks

    This is a very hands on internship. Please ONLY apply if you have a flexible schedule, as shoots can vary from 1-2 times per week.     Coordinate all Visual support of Vans retail stores. Assist in the development of the Visual Direction and programs for the Vans Retail business.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Partner with the Director of Visuals to create the vision and direction of the floorset.
    • Participates in monthly floorsets, window changes, display changes and creates directives for all retail stores. Works with the Director of Visuals to plan and lead visual bootcamps.

    • Partners with the head of each department within retail to produce the quarterly department newsletter.
    • Works with the buying team and product team to produce the seasonal product knowledge guides.

    • Work with the buying and operations team to develop quarterly contests in conjunction with key product releases

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • 3-5+ Years of Related Professional Experience
    • Degree in Retail Merchandising or Art preferred
    • Prior experience in retail visual merchandising at a corporate level required
    • Experience with a brand retailer a plus.

    Skills:

    • Strong PC skills (MS Office & Lotus notes)
