macys.com Site Merchandise Paid Internship (San Francisco)

Learn the strategies and techniques to merchandise the macys.com Web site during this paid summer internship in San Francisco. As part of the site merchandising team, you’ll participate in improving customer satisfaction, maximizing sales performance and achieving EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) goals. You will also support the Merchandise Manager in the areas of production, assigning of attributes, search and promotion.

What you have the opportunity to do

  • Manage site content and merchandising. Coordinate product placement, visibility of key items and execution of promotions.
  • Publish all web pages once fully approved.
  • Monitor the customer’s view of search activity. Understand ramifications of failed search results, attribute search-ranking criteria by item and manage the search database.
  • Navigate product to all relevant categories. Make the customer experience of browsing through our store easy, convenient and impactful.
  • Complete attribute functionality by end-use: Age, Gender, Vendor, Gift Occasion and any related attributes by Family of Business (FOB).
  • Manage creation of product pools for relevant cross-sell suggestions.
  • Analyze sales, conversion and campaign executions using various reporting technologies.

What to bring to the internship

  • Junior year status working toward Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Finance or related fields with a solid academic record
  • Retail experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
