This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop a real prowess within the broad scope of new media.
Qualifications:
* Prior writing/blogging experience (must enjoy blogging!)
* Must have excellent communication skills and be highly organized, efficient

* Minimum commitment of 4 months (one full-length semester)

Our ideal candidate is a voracious news consumer. We look for someone who navigates through a variety of social media platforms and news outlets with ease, accumulating a steady stream of story ideas along the way. We would like to find a self-starter with a basic grasp of AP Style, HTML and a thirst to push the envelope journalistically. We dig strong voices and large vocabularies, too. Above all else, we want interns who are passionate about the topics we cover.
This is an unpaid internship; however it can lead to a paid position. Interns will receive training, mentorship and opportunities to expand their portfolios. We want to lend a hand to a new generation of bloggers and help you walk away from your internship with a better handle on reporting, interviewing and writing in general.
Our office is always stocked with free snacks and beverages. Based on job performance, references and networking opportunities will be provided. We aim to promote growth and take a very grassroots, team-centric approach with our esteemed group of interns.
