Spring 2011 Merchandising Internship
The Merchandise Intern will be responsible for working with the Merchandising team to maintain the integrity of the department’s inventory. The intern will be responsible for assisting the Team in insuring all purchase orders and cancellations are placed correctly, returns and transfers completed as needed, and special requests processed.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Support Merchant Team through project oriented tasks
Manage boutiques’ reserve lists
Monitor reroutes of Trunk Show and Boutique Reserves
Conduct weekly/monthly sales reports
Assist Team in checking order confirmations from Paris and maintain order status file
Assist Team in inputting Purchase Order information into Retail Pro systems
Assist Team in updating PO’s to reflect changes in Quantity, Delivery Date and Cost
Assist in the preparation of seasonal selling books
Work on special research projects as needed
Skills and Competencies
Ability to take initiative and work independently at times
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to learn quickly when facing new problems
Ability to operate all equipment and programs necessary to perform the job
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (ie; Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Ability to learn quickly and retain processes
Knowledge of Retail Math
Knowledge of textiles and garment details
