Nordstrom Visual Merchandise Internship (SF)

Responsibilities

• Able to visualize and execute with excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrate an enthusiasm for styling and knowledge of current fashion trends
• Implement current visual presentation standards and ensure department staff and regional merchandisers are trained on these standards
• Prepare, organize and execute merchandising strategies, large scale events and initiatives
• Partner with store and visual merchandising manager to implement short and long term plans for the overall store presentation
• Ensure high quality of all visual aspects of the store
• Ensure high quality with regard to window and event execution
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and understand and meet deadlines


Qualifications

• Experience or education in retail visual merchandising
• Enthusiasm for fashion and knowledge of current fashion trends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

The Nordstrom Internship program is open to college students currently in their junior and senior years who are enrolled in accredited institutions and applicable degree programs. For example, retail management and fashion merchandising.

The Internship program starts June 7, 2010 and ends August 13, 2010. The application deadline is February 28, 2010. Interviews are conducted in March and the selection process will be complete by March 31, 2010.
