A little about Urban Diversion - www.UrbanDiversion.com Urban Diversion is an fun fast paced activities company. We have a small team of 6-8 people and are based in San Francisco and the Bay Areas fastest growing Events Club. Urban Diversion is the only activities club in the Bay Area with a members’ Clubhouse, located in the heart of San Francisco . We offer 30-40 events per month, every month being different from the next. We do events from river rafting, wine tasting, murder mystery dinners, limousine scavenger hunts, opera, camping/hiking, pub crawls, dancing, sushi making class, and so much more! . We really try to vary the type and style of our events. So new ideas and inspiration is always welcomed. We encourage people to think outside the box and develop skills that will lead them to be even more creative then they could imagine. Urban Diversion has over 700 members in and around the bay area and are steadily on the increase.

Detail about the positions of the internships that we have to offer...

THIS IS A MANAGEMENT LEVEL INTERNSHIP – You will not be making beds in a hotel, or setting up tables for corporate event, you will be making tough management choices of what our customers want for activities and making them happen from start to finish. The right candidate must be mature, outgoing, active and professional. At the end of the year you will receive a certificate and standing referral letter from the company outlining your successes which holds more weight in America than a degree.

Assistant Event Manager Intern - Preferred fields of study: Events Management, Tourism, Recreation, Leisure

This job is an active, full time challenge that is a lot of fun. It also involves a lot of hard work and total dedication to success. You will be organizing and conducting all kinds of social events from hiking/camping to wine tasting to pub crawls for our members. You will need to be a leader and be able to host a group of people in their upper 20’s, 30’s. This is a chance for you to grow as a person both professionally and personally.

Some Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Brainstorming ideas for upcoming calendars
- Planning events
- Event Research
- Publishing 30-40 events per month
- Drive membership
- Vendor Sourcing and partnership initiation
- Co-ordinating with other Event coordinator and eventually becoming the manager of the group

Qualifications needed:
-Independent overachiever
-Extremely outgoing personality
-Creative activity planner
-Marketing and Sales prowess
-Experience in event coordination or similar activities
-Must QUICKLY become very familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area
-Excellent oral and writing skills
-MUST have drivers license and at least 3 years driving experience
-Should be willing to try any type of event from sky diving to candle making
-Focus on safety and people
-MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet Savvy (HTML is a plus, not required)
-Time management skills, ability to multi-task and switch tracks at a moments notice.
-International applicants will need a visa sponsorship through interExchange or BUNAC

Offer Inclusions - Internships must be for a one year minimum.

Interns are provided with the following items:
-Full time position at San Francisco Office
-Furnished Housing in downtown San Francisco (most expensive city in the USA)
-Board including open kitchen at clubhouse and special allowances
-Stipend of $400/monthly as well as quarterly bonuses that could total up to $1500
