Marketing Interns Needed (San Jose, CA)

College Students and/or young adult volunteers: Want an educational and exciting work experience? Need an internship for graduation? Ever wanted to work with a non-profit? Are you curious about what work goes on behind running a museum?

The Tech Museum is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, and outgoing volunteer or college students with Marketing Communications experience for an exciting internship within our marketing department. The interns will be exposed to a broad range of marketing aspects.

The Marketing Department Intern will assist the Marketing department with daily operations and will report to Linda Gardner, Senior Marketing Manager.

Areas of Responsibilities or projects:

• Public Relations

• Research

• Marketing Generalist

• Special Events

• Social Networking

• Digital Media

• Creative Design



--Assist in research and marketing data collection.

--Support Marketing Department with Social Networking program; i.e. Facebook and twitter

--Assist in updating local listings and postings

--Under supervision, assist in writing media advisories or other specific PR needs

--Under supervision, follow up on specific promotion needs or fact-finding information.

--Provide some clerical support when needed.

--Perform other related duties as assigned.

--Under supervision, provide support to membership and special events team as needed.


Qualifications:

--Computer and office experience mandatory: ie Power Point, Microsoft Word

--Must be able to write efficiently

--Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously

--Available during weekday, business hours

--Must commit to volunteer a minimum of two days a week for three months

--Must pass a criminal background check



Note: This will be a non-paid internship, but it is rich in experience.
