Bernard Chaus, Inc., is a $125 million dollar women’s apparel manufacturer designs, arranges for the manufacture of and markets an extensive range of women’s career and casual sportswear. The Company’s products are sold nationwide through department store chains, specialty retailers, off price retailers, wholesale clubs, and other retail chains.
Summer/ Immediate positions available for individuals with a strong interest to work within the fashion industry. Students will have the opportunity to gain valuable real-world work experience by assisting our Sales and Merchandising departments in the day-to-day operations at our New York City office location.
All positions support the key retail business strategies that are designed to maximize store performance and profitability. Assignments include general maintenance and tracking of showroom samples through accurate and timely data entry, production of reports and documents, working with merchandising on final selling sheets. Prepare and attend market and team meetings, learn the fundamental skills of being an account executive, concepts of brand integrity and consistency. Will correspond with clients and vendors via telephone and e-mails.
One to two years of college preferred with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Previous sales/retail/merchandising experience desired. Superb verbal and written communication skills. Self motivated; ability to take initiative and work independently while managing time effectively. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through. Must be able to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
All positions are 30-40 hours per week; flexibility around student's schedule, start in May/June and run through the end of August.
