About the Internship

LOJO Group, LLC seeks a Graphic Design Intern to work under the direct supervision of the Senior Graphic Designer. This position will create compelling designs for our clients for both web and print based media. This internship will give the intern valuable real-world experience in print and web design, as well as providing LOJO Group with additional manpower. The intern is considered an integral part of the team and as such, their ideas and input will be valued.

Duties:
• The Intern must be organized, and detail oriented, possess strong typography and layout skills, and be a graphic design major with a major GPA of at least 2.75. In other words, you have to be serious about working in this career field, as you will be considered for full-time employment.
• Proficiency in Adobe CS3/CS4 Design Standard is required. Some knowledge of Adobe Flash, online Content Management Systems, and web technology trends is not mandatory, but definitely preferred. You will be designing logos, stationery, print, and web material (websites and web graphics).
• Understands the print and pre-press process and relevant print terminology.
• Works closely with the Senior Graphic Designer. Contact with clients will be under supervision. Ability to stay focused through occasional repeat interruptions is important.
• Assists, plans and develops design concept by researching, analyzing, and sketching desired design characteristics, such as, size, shape, weight, color, typography, materials, ease of use, fit, cost, and safety. Can advocate design concepts (why did you do it this way) to clients and other staff members. Ability to receive constructive criticism in a positive manner is mandatory to learning the industry.
• Obtains approval of design by presenting and explaining sketches and models to either the Senior Graphic Designer or the client. Prepares finished design by incorporating client and in-house revisions.
• Attend meetings on and off-site with the Sr. Designer and other members of the team.
• Other duties as assigned
• Other software knowledge relevant to the position: MS Office, email programs, internet browsers, PC and Mac based OS, Project Tracking software, general knowledge of PC and/or Mac troubleshooting a plus.

Education Requirements
• Juniors, Seniors, or recent graduates of a two or four year college. Must have a web or printed portfolio showcasing your best work in both web and print.
• The intern upon hiring must supply transcripts and college department specification requirements.
