NEW HIP VINTAGE CLOTHING AND CONCEPT BOUTIQUE SEEKS INTERN
Have you ever thought of owning your own boutique? Well now is your chance to learn the ropes! A seasoned costume designer/stylist is shifting gears and opening an alternative concept boutique that will carry vintage, new designer and lifestyle items in trendy Echo Park. Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of two months.
Though this is an unpaid position, there is definitely room for growth for the right candidate. There is also 10$ an hour pay for assistance at the Rose Bowl Flea Market booth. It’s also an excellent opportunity to work with leaders in fashion community, meet many creative types in the fashion world and gain hands-on experience in fashion, marketing, design and retail/resale businesses.
We seek a candidate with a passion for fashion, style, PR and marketing. There will be room for creative exchanges and input, if you are great at sourcing/shopping for new crafter/designer/vintage merchandise to place in the shop; there is definitely room for compensation for that service. Whoever joins the team will learn a lot about vintage clothing, and alternative, hip, designer clothing.
We’re seeking a hard worker who is highly organized, punctual, yet laid back (you will be working in a creative studio in a yurt, as well as at the boutique, with artsy, interesting people from the design world -- not a corporate environment).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Be female!
- Live near Echo Park, where the creative studio and the boutique are located.
- Have a flexible schedule.
- Be computer and Internet savvy and be very familiar with the MAC platform and web 2.0 (facebook, twitter, etsy etc.)
- Have a car and valid drivers license
- Have a lot of energy
INTERNSHIP DUTIES
- Working approximately 10 to 20 hours per week (we are flexible with this so long as the candidate is responsible).
- PR and marketing (writing press releases, assembling press packets, sending newsletters, event planning, customer and press relations, maintaining social networking pages).
- Assistance at special events (For example, compensated work at the Rose Bowl Flea Market)
- Light office work.
- Running occasional clothing errands.
- Help with creative brainstorming, trend and fashion research, sourcing research and branding analysis
- Organizing, steaming, photographing clothing etc.
