Editorial Intern for Online Social Shopping Community (sunnyvale)

Kaboodle (www.kaboodle.com), the largest and fastest-growing online social shopping community, is looking for an Editorial Intern to join our team to assist the editorial department with content creation. This is a terrific opportunity for a current Journalism or English major to gain hands-on editorial and online media experience. If you are an aspiring online editor looking to gain experience in a fun, collaborative, team setting, we want to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and cover letter along with a brief writing sample (around 100 words) as well as links to any blogs you maintain.

Position Duties:

- Assist the editorial team with creation and execution of blog posts to Kaboodle blogs
- Help with creation and maintenance of other editorial content around the site, including featured products, shopping and gift guides, photos, and styleboard collages
- Help create and maintain a PR contact database
- Research as needed

Qualifications:

- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Journalism or English
- Strong interest in Web 2.0, social networking, and blogging
- Strong knowledge of and interest in fashion publications, designers, and trends
- Knowledge and active participation in social websites
- Strong PC skills with an aptitude for Excel, Word, and Photoshop
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write, edit, and post content to the web
- Basic knowledge of HTML
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality

Position Details:

Hours: 30-40 hours/week
Start Date: March 2009
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Compensation: $10-12, dependent upon experience
