Being a Fanscape Intern:
Fanscape is dedicated to a professional and enriching internship program. Our Intern Seminar Series will connect you with top industry professionals and teach you cutting-edge new media marketing skills. We pride ourselves on one-to-one interaction, individual intern projects and a fun and stimulating work environment. Internships are unpaid, but we happily offer college course credit for your time here. Applicants should be willing to commit at least 15-18 hours per week at our Los Angeles-based offices over a 3-4 month period. We will do our best to create hours that accommodate your class schedule.
The ideal candidate is a self-proclaimed internet addict- the more time you spend on Facebook, AIM and YouTube, the better! We especially welcome those with knowledge of blogs, viral videos, social bookmarking and other Web 2.0 applications (particularly the cutting-edge ones we haven’t heard of yet). You should also be a search engine master, who often revels in the nerdy joy of a well-executed Googling.
Key Intern Responsibilities:
Social Media Marketing:
As a Social Media intern, you work with us to help our clients generate online buzz and awareness. This means you will be assisting us in all facets of outreach including everything from building and maintaining social identities to keeping up-to-date on social media trends. You will regularly be interacting with core fans in social networks (Facebook), message boards (OffTopic.com), video upload sites (YouTube), microblogging sites (Twitter) as well as using bookmarking sites (DIGG) and tracking sites (Twitter Search) to monitor the space.
Publicity / Promotions:
As an intern, you will gain direct experience with public relations and promotions strategies through hands-on instruction and trade workshops. Your duties will include internet research, database management, target list creation, mailings, blogging, data entry, conferencing interviews, transcription and other various administrative tasks. We would also look to you for suggestions and insights on relevant web fads and new websites.
Business Development:
The Business Development intern will assist our team with brainstorming and conceptualizing client campaigns, proposals, presentations, marketing & promotion strategies as well as general research, administrative tasks, organization, and keeping abreast of industry dynamics, trends, and opportunities. Previous coursework (preferably a major) in marketing or advertising is preferred, but not required.
Research & Analytics:
As a Strategy & Analytics intern, you will work with our Strategy & Analytics team, and especially closely with our VP of Strategy & Analytics, on various projects ranging from research to financial models to competitive and SWOT analyses
