handymen, skilled tradesmen etc.) operating in the Bay Area, Los
Angeles, and Sacramento. Homeowners find and connect with local
service providers (predominantly Latino) who have prior professional
references, ratings and community reviews and get fair prices set in a
competitive market.Members of the part-time or independent labor pool get highly
efficient, mobile, cost-effective advertising and a personal "brand"

Laborfair's Online/Guerrilla Marketing Internship:

Seeking 2 high energy, smart, and Web 2.0 savvy
summer interns to help us with guerrilla marketing efforts and
additional projects. This is an unpaid position, however exceptional
candidates will be considered for part-time or full time employment
after the summer months.

Time: June-August, 2008
Location: SOMA, San Francisco, Work from Home

Duties Include:

-Recruitment of service providers and consumers
-Promoting our community on and off-line at events
-Guerrilla marketing, online and in the field
-Social network market research
-Social networking outreach

Laborfair's Social Medial Internship:

* Enhancing content and delivery for the online community
* Developing programs such as tip of the week; question of the
week; creating polls etc.
* Finding volunteers and encouraging them to seed discussions
* Assisting with outreach efforts through email, public web site
promotions and events
* Integration with other social media such as FaceBook, Twitter,
Flickr, Digg
* Draw a continuum between our public website and the Online
Community defining the increasing value of content and exclusivity
from the "all public" areas to private forums on the community
* Identifying content, offers or invitations, and the timing of
content release and how it fits in at each level
* Developing metrics for success and measuring how the membership
value is enhanced by this new Community
* Managing a market research project such as phone interviews, a
member survey, or focus groups aimed at understanding value and
relevance of this Community to members and prospects
* Establishing guidelines for ongoing activity and Laborfair's
role in activating the community (content and online presence)

The Social Media Intern's experience should include:

* Proficiency with Web 2.0 tools
* Experience in social media (blogs, communities, etc.)
* Understanding of integrated marketing
* Strong copywriting skills
* Ability to comfortably interact with small, efficient, fun-loving team

Logistics:

* Office located in SOMA, San Francisco, CA
* Time commitment of 15-20 hours per week
* Base salary

Laborfair's Marketing Internship:

Market Research
-Newsletter improvement research
-Research speaking engagement opportunities and requirements
-Research prospective and current clients' websites and their
competitors for insights
-Promote Laborfair at fun summer events

Analysis
-Develop, implement and track performance of campaigns
-Extract insights on which to evolve existing programs and base new
programs and strategies
-Work to optimize PPC, display & email campaigns
-Support search optimization with keyword research and link development

Creative
-Use creativity to create stylish, fun offline materials for distribution
-help develop new consumer facing features on laborfair

Required Skills/Traits
• Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication
• Microsoft Office, some knowledge of Photoshop and basic HTML
• Ability to think creatively and implement online/offline marketing
projects from the idea phase
• Able to multi-task and drive team deliverables in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of popular websites and social networks (web junkie)
• Great knowledge or online environments and how to communicate in them
• Strong sense of product ownership and pride in work
• Preference for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment

Internship details:
• Length: flexible (Approximately June - Sept)
• Hours: 14-28 hours/week (Mon – Fri) (flexibility on hours)
• Start Date: June 2008 (some flexibility on start date)
• Location: SOMA, San Francisco
