Digital PR intern - media, health, beauty, fashion (Greenwich Village)

Overview:
Calling all health gurus, beauty junkies and green experts to cultivate press opportunities, event appearances and speaking engagements. In this gig you will have the opportunities to immerse yourself in emerging marketing and PR platforms including social media. You must have a desire to navigate the fast-paced world of digital PR and marketing. If you’re a dynamic, passionate, go-getter with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast passed environment you may have found your match.


What We’re Looking For:
Crafted Writer and Articulate communicator
Computer and technology savvy with internet research ability
Motivated, energetic self-starter
Creative, proactive thinker with "can-do" attitude.
Understanding of consumer trends, needs and wants.
Ability to develop and maintain key relationships.
Time management skills: ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Strong organization and attention to detail.
Ability to be reactive and change directions quickly.

Ideal candidate will have some promotions, marketing, advertising, and/or administrative/assistant experience. Marketing, PR, Communications, Journalism course work is helpful.

Primary Responsibilities:
Campaign Concepts and Pitch Positioning Strategy
Story Research, Drafting, Editing
Message and Press Release Development
Media Outreach and Procurement (web and blog driven)

Inside Scoop:
This is not an agency for people who enjoy being micro-managed. . You’ll be trained on pitching, writing, research and social media. And have extensive delivery method protocols at your disposal. Post ramp-up you’ll be expected to come in and hit the ground running and expected to deliver without a lot of hand-holding. If you’re results oriented and looking to build your resume and portfolio you’ll get just the experience you’re looking for.

Net-Net:
This is a new role inside a growing boutique agency, meaning that you get to own it, define it, and shape it. You’ll get to work closely with the president of the company, press contacts and the in-house team to see your pitches and stories through start to finish. Initially, this would be an internship, but it could turn into a long-term contract.
