VAGADU DESIGN INTERN
Start: October
Hours: 15 hours per week minimum
Compensation: Unpaid
Vagadu is an innovative clothing line that draws inspiration from fine art to create one-of-a-kind fashion pieces with reclaimed fabrics. Intern will help assemble and have creative input on the design of the Fall 2010 collection under the supervision of Artistic Director.
Responsibilities for Design Intern include but are not limited to: flat patterning, draping, sewing & assembling clothing articles, hand sewing, creating accessories, mending and finishing garments. Note: All applicants MUST have experience working with fine fabrics.
Aside from the responsibilities mentioned above, Intern will make contact with design and arts organizations supporting the independent fashion industry, participate in upcoming shows and learn small business development strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for assembling clothes, strong experience in fine sewing, interest in green fashion, and is seeking to gain exposure in the independent fashion/events industry while building one's resume profile. Your creativity and ability to problem solve are essential.
