Job Description:
We currently have internship opportunities available in the IBM Almaden Research Center (San Jose, CA) Science & Technology department.

In our department we have several areas of research interest that include nanotechnology (fundamental studies, nanomaterials and nanoscale devices), computation for life sciences, storage technology, materials research and organic and polymer synthesis (for photolithography and other advanced applications) and spintronics.

Some of our notable department accomplishments/awards include: the invention of chemically amplified photoresists, the discovery of carbon nanotubes, positioned individual atoms using an STM to spell I-B-M and eventually observed the quantum mirage

Students are employees hired for a pre-professional/professional assignment while enrolled at a university/educational institution or just after completion of qualification and work for IBM as a Requiredpart of their academic program or work during vacation, breaks, and/or holiday periods or as a placement year, for example, co-ops and interns.

Required

· High School Diploma/GED

Preferred

· Bachelor's Degree in Other Sciences

· At least 2 years experience in scientific and experimental skills

· At least 2 years experience in working independently

· English : Fluent
