Description

As an intern in Avon's Global Research and Development group, you will have the opportunity to work alongside premier scientists with expertise in biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular modeling, bacteriology and formulation. Located in a state-of-the-art R&D facility in Suffern, NY, Avon's world-class scientific team is responsible for the delivery of new product technology to over 300 million customers in 100 countries worldwide.

Avon offers a paid internship program that includes project work, mentorship, and a series of formal learning opportunities related to both science and business. Assignments include being placed in one of our product formulation laboratories in the areas of Skin, Personal Care, Color Cosmetics, or Hair Care; or performing work in one of our support functions such as Analytical Chemistry or Regulatory.

Qualifications

Students who join us must possess a strong work ethic and a passion for science. An interest in business, beauty and/or fashion is a plus. For students graduating in 2010 or 2011, we require work towards a BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Engineering (Chemical, Biological or Material Science). Behavioral Science (Psychology or Sociology) may be considered for specific roles. We require an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Prior industry internship experience a plus. Interns must be legally authorized to work on an ongoing basis in the US.
