Marketing Internship Opportunities in Public Broadcasting (potrero hill)

Northern California Public Broadcasting (operating KQED Television, KTEH Television, KQET Telelvision, KQED-FM Radio and KQEI-FM Radio) a broadcasting leader is launching a new internship opportunity within the Marketing Communications division. Available immediately and for the duration of the summer months, the New Media Internhsip will have the successful candidate involved in: creating and distributing all promotional materials and program-based advertising for the organization. Our New Media Intern will extend the efforts of the department by assisting with outreach and promotion utilizing social networking sites, web 2.0 applications, and other new technology.

Internship Duties:

• Creates, updates and maintains KQED, KTEH and KQET online presence through social networking sites: MySpace, Facebook, etc.
• Pitches NCPB content to online media outlets, including relevant blogs and website editors.
• Searches the Web & directories for relevant, quality content (podcasts, video, blogs, etc.).
• Researches new contacts for future projects.
• Assists with online ad placements and design.
• Prepares online analysis and creates reports and recommendations for future projects.
• Performs other duties as required.

Internship Qualifications:

• Interest and/or experience in new media.
• Computer skills essential, including basic HTML, design and word processing skills.
• Strong organizational research skills, including online research.
• Self-starter.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and to work independently.
• Interest in and ability to stay current on new media developments.
