Advertising Internship with Surface Magazine

SURFACE magazine is now accepting resumes for internships in the departments of Advertising and Publishing.

SURFACE is a lifestyle publication that reports on fashion, architecture and interior design, art, film, and music industries. We are looking for smart, energetic and style-savvy candidates who are ambitious and eager to learn. Knowledge of Macintosh systems is preferred.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will vary depending on the candidate’s strengths and prior experience. General responsibilities include administrative duties, such as answering phones, sorting mail, faxing, and taking subscription orders.

Duties specific to the Advertising internship include:
• Updating databases, conducting media research, organizing media kit mailings
• Planning and execution of promotional events

Duties specific to the Publishing internship include:
• Observing how the magazine is planned and produced, creating ad layout for upcoming issues using Quark, coordinating non-editorial functions of the magazine

WORTHY TO NOTE:

-The SURFACE San Francisco office is located in the Mission District
-SURFACE requires a minimum commitment of four months (at least 10 hours per week)
- Applicants should be in their junior or senior year of college
- This is an unpaid internship
