INTERNSHIP for COLLEGE LIFESTYLE BRAND-STYLE&FEMALE EMPOWERMENT (UC DAVIS)

Internship for College Lifestyle Brand geared toward Style and Female Empowerment

Start Date: Early to mid April
End Date: Negotiable, preferably looking for interns with a 6 month to one year commitment.
Pay Rate: College Credit
Work Hours: This is mainly a remote internship where interns will work on their own time and communicate with home office based in Los Angeles. Work hours are flexible upon individual’s availability.
Total Hours Per Week: 10-20
Educational Requirements: College Student or Post-Grad

Description of Duties:
Assist in developing a campus-based team for a start-up lifestyle brand geared toward college women, college-bound women, and post-grad young professional women.
* Participate in Editorial Meetings, scheduled tasks, and assignments.
* Organize a Campus Calendar:
o School Sponsored Campus Events
o Campus Organization Events
o Greek Life Events
o Community Events
o Academic Calendar
o Financial Aid
o Scholarship Deadlines
o Local Workshops
o Performances
o Conventions
o Speakers
* Write editorial columns and take photographs
* Assist in creating campus marketing campaigns, events, charity events
* Create relationships with local businesses
* Possible web-development, sales, and advertising opportunities.
* Possible paid position opportunities.

Interns will have the opportunity to have hands-on experience in developing a location-based team and seeing the groundwork to building a start-up grassroots campaign for a brand. This is not an internship for simply fetching coffee or making copies. The skills in this internship will build your resume in showing leadership skills and actual results-based performance.

Skills and Requirements:
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Professional yet personable demeanor
*A knowledge and interest in local and national current events affecting the brand’s target audience (college women, college-bound women, and post grad young professional women).
*A specific interest as well as sophisticated palette in topics such as educational and career success, style/fashion, bargain shopping, spiritual growth, and cultural topics (food, travel, books, films, music, etc.)
*The ability to translate topics of interest to a wider target audience
*Diligence in research and persistent follow-up skills
*Organization
*Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
*Knowledge of basic computer and internet research skills
*Must be able to provide:
o Computer/laptop
o Digital Camera
o Internet Connection
o Email Address
o Telephone
o Usage charges incurred for all technology used by intern
o College Credit Forms
*Photoshop and graphic design skills a plus
*Knowledge of Google Documents a plus
*Knowledge of social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, etc from a business perspective is a plus
*Knowledge of SEO tools is a plus
*Involvement in campus organizations, Greek life, social events, etc. is a plus
