Wedbush Morgan Securities is seeking interns for paid summer 2008 internships in our Research Dept. Qualified Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Fashion Industry/Retail Clothing/Accessories Experience
Currently enrolled in college/university or community college
Age 18 or older
GPA of 3.3 or better
Available for 10 weeks or more, 40 hours per week
Has reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
Willing to travel to local/regional shopping centers and retail stores
Bonus Points For: strong writing and verbal communication skills
Really Serious Bonus Points for: Good with numbers/understand financial anlaysis (not required)
Internship Description:
Conduct "channel checks" and market research (code words for doing "mall crawling" and getting paid for it!). Observe and report on store traffic; how merchandise is moving (what's on sale); and general "buzz" within the establishment. Compile information and data and work with Research Analyst on writing market research reports. Also, conduct internet research on covered companies and assist Research Analyst with updating market information. This position is based in our downtown Los Angeles Corp. HQ, but about 1/2 of student's time will be spent doing research outside of the office.
Note: This position is open only to candidates who are currently residing in the greater L.A. area and can be available for interviews on short notice. This position could also extend into Fall 09 and Spring 08 paid internships. Must be Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen to Apply. Must be currenly enrolled student in good academic standing in an accredited academic institution.
