Downtown contemporary art gallery accepting applications for three month internships. Interns work two days a week and learn all aspects of business, including art handling, installation, inventory and archiving, as well as provenance and documentation. Exposure to gallery process will include fulfillment and client relations, research and collateral publication, curatorial and media considerations and event planning. Consideration will be given to applicants with strong organizational and communication skills, and a working familiarity with art history, particularly Modern and Contemporary Painting. Preference will be given to those who have an interest in a career in the arts. This is a non-paid position with a track towards possible compensated consulting position with the gallery.
