Part-Time Graphic Design Intern (SF/Financial District)

RichRelevance is the leading provider of next-generation personalization and product recommendation tools for enterprise-class eCommerce sites, including Sears.com and Walmart.com. It is a fast-paced startup which has been growing tremendously over the past couple of years. We were founded with executives and key folks from Amazon, Overstock, eBay, PayPal, Akamai, Qualcomm, Omniture, Cnet, MySpace, and ATG. We're focused, serious software guys and gals who love being part of a talented team and don't mind a little fun every now and then!

We are looking for a talented, independent and part-time graphic designer for about 10-20 hours/week with the flexibility to work more or less hours as necessary. The ideal candidate must be able to create detailed mock-ups of product and develop sales presentation materials in a deadline driven atmosphere (other projects as assigned). The candidate should be creative, a quick learner, and have an inherent understanding of how shoppers use ecommerce sites. The candidate will also have the flexibility to work remotely but should be willing to come into our office when needed. This position is a contract position paid at an hourly rate. Our offices are in the Financial District in San Francisco.

Qualifications:
A guru with Photoshop (CS3+) and master of PowerPoint (2007/8)
Proficiency with pixel- and vector-based graphics, layers and adjustment layers, layer masks, layer effects, smart objects, groups, actions, color profiles and management, keyboard shortcuts!
Familiarity with slide masters, document themes, custom animations, transitions, grouping objects and replacing images
Background in graphic design: at least 2 years of professional marketing design or print design/production experience (web design background a big plus!)
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of online user experiences ¡X how typography and layout work in site design
Good design sense and ability to follow established creative styles associated with a particular brands website
Detail-oriented, self-starter & fast learner
Ability to take creative direction but can work autonomously with minimal supervision, self-motivated!
Confident and quick in independently solving visual problems with clever and innovative solutions
Ability to prioritize work load, manage multiple projects with fast turn-around
Takes a great amount of pride in his/her own work
Must have own computer equipment (Mac preferred) and live in San Francisco

Additional Skills:
Flash, After Effects, CSS/HTML, Illustrator, InDesign skills a plus, but not necessary
